ROMAN EMPIRE (30 BCE – 395 CE)
In the Hellenistic Period, the Kingdom of Pergamon continued as an influential power in Western Anatolia for approximately 150 years under the rule of the Attalos Dynasty. When King Attalos III died in 133 BCE, he left his kingdom to Rome by will. Romans, who acquired land in Western Anatolia for the first time, established the Asia Province, the first province in Anatolia, on the grounds of the former Pergamon Kingdom in 129 BCE.

ART IN THE ROMAN EMPIRE
Although the architecture and the art of the Roman Period were a continuation of the tradition and culture that came before, it had a different character with its unique innovations. Theatres, amphitheaters, stadiums, temples, libraries, agora, parliament buildings, stores, bridges, and aqueducts were all multi-story and made of marble.
